I'm the owner of My Physical Therapy and Coaching. All of my degrees and advanced trainings are listed towards the bottom of this page, so I'll save you the bore and skip to the good stuff.
A wise soul once told me, "things don't happen to you, they happen for you... so you can help someone else struggling with the same thing."
And that pretty much sums up why I opened My Physical therapy and Coaching --so that I could offer help from a place of understanding for individuals struggling with the same things I've struggled with. I'm not the critic on the sideline or the man on the mountaintop, I'm in the arena with you. From headaches and neck pain to feelings of unworthiness and fear of failure, I am here to tell you that I get you!
At
My Physical therapy and Coaching
I provide both
physical therapy to help individuals struggling with pain and injury find a solution that is in alignment with their needs and lifestyle
and
I coach fellow physical therapist who are struggling with
burnout,
fear of failure, and
unworthiness to help them unpack those self limiting beliefs and build a life that is fulfilling and energizing.
I've known since the age of 5 that I wanted to be a PT.
Two of my kindergarten classmates where in wheelchairs. I would brainstorm ways I could help them run with us at recess. Fast forward to our kindergarten fieldtrip to the hospital and I got my answer... I saw a little girl stand up from a wheel chair and walk in
parallel bars. It was magic to me!
I chose to go to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences because the school included advanced training in manual therapy (and it's still one of my favorite places in the world).
I've been a PT for over a decade and my expertise lies in manual therapy. I've continued to invest heavily in advanced training in manual techniques and I've been mentored by some of the best manual PTs in the industry.
I grew up a coach's daughter in a small town on the Virginia-North Carolina border and spent many days following my dad around the weight room and sidelines (yep, that's me and dad in the pic).
I was a little tomboy and you could always find me playing football with all the boys at recess. I still feel the most like myself when I'm on the soccer field or watching football.
I don't remember learning to play soccer, but it's been a part of my entire life. I played in Europe (Italy and Spain) when I was 15 and I played in college at CNU.
Even though playing college soccer was my childhood dream, when I look back what I miss most were the years of preparation, practices, games, teammates, coaches, roadtrips... it's those ordinary days and the people I shared them with that I miss the most.
